2. HDMSO is used to crystallize highly lipophilic compounds since it carries a poorer solvating power than alkanes.

3. This compound is also used in manufacturing liquid bandages that comes in spray format, like a cavilon spray. These generally protect damaged skin from irritation caused by other bodily fluids.

4. HDMSO acts as a good anti-adhesive agent and hence, they are used to remove any residue left by medical tapes, bandages and any other adhesive materials.

5. Presently, studies are conducted to use HDMSO in making low-k dielectric materials for the semi conductor industries.

6. HDMSO is a highly hydrophobic compound, so it exhibits high gas solubility. This is the reason that it possesses a strong nuclear magnetic resonance spin lattice relaxation rate (R1) response to changes in oxygen tension (pO2). Importance of Hexamethyl Disiloxane
